The Federal Government has declared Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations.
The minister of interior, Abba Moro, who announced the holidays in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, congratulated Christians on the joyous occasion.
The statement signed by Adetayo Sode, director, citizens and business in the ministry of interior, urged Christians to remain committed to the exemplary attributes of love, tolerance and peaceful co-existence which Jesus Christ exhibited during his life on earth.
Moro further urged Nigerians, irrespective of their religious leaning, to use the occasion for sober reflection and pray for the continued prosperity and progress of the nation.
