…inspires New Generation of Stand-Up Comedians,

MC Monica, one of Nigeria’s most exciting comedians, is capturing hearts and filling halls as he takes his journey from the streets of Bayelsa to packed shows across the country, and now, he’s setting his sights on the Global stage.

On Saturday, June 5, the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, witnessed a full house as fans trooped in for the latest leg of his signature Who Is Chisom comedy tour. This came shortly after the comedian shutdown the Eko Hotel, Lagos. Riding on that momentum, MC Monica thrilled his Abuja audience with an unforgettable evening of laughter, announcing even bigger plans: Who Is Chisom will hit London on September 26, Port Harcourt on November 9, and Enugu on December 26.

MC Monica, born Edeh Sylvester Chisom and hailing from Enugu State, is not just the rave of the moment, he’s steadily becoming a defining voice in Nigeria’s new wave of stand-up comedy. He holds a degree in Fine and Applied Arts from Niger Delta University and began his comedy journey in 2014, performing in Bayelsa before gaining national attention.

By 2016, he launched his now-celebrated annual comedy show, Starch Ur Teeth, which has grown into a major fixture in Nigeria’s entertainment calendar, with five successful editions to date.

But beyond his sharp wit and sold-out shows, MC Monica is also using his platform for impact. Through his initiative, D Children Must Chop, he has reached indigent communities in over 30 states across Nigeria, offering food relief and promoting access to education. The initiative has since grown into the Edeh Sylvester Chisom Foundation, further cementing his reputation not just as an entertainer but as a changemaker.

Speaking about his latest shows, MC Monica revealed that upcoming editions of Who Is Chisom will include special performances designed to deliver even more excitement to fans.

With his unique blend of comedy, charisma, and compassion, MC Monica is not just making people laugh he’s giving hope, creating opportunities for young comedians, and putting Nigerian stand-up comedy on the global map.
