The deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos chapter in the 2015 general elections, Safurat Abdulkareem, former Deputy State Chairman, Ola Apena, and the State Publicity Secretary, Hakeem Ambode, have officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

They made their defection known at a press conference held at the secretariat of the Lagos4Lagos Movement in Ikeja on Monday.

Several other PDP members, including some House of Assembly candidates in the state in 2023, were among those who defected to the APC.

BusinessDay had reported that a former PDP deputy governorship candidate, prominent Chieftains of the party had finalised arrangements to dump the PDP for the APC.
