Nigerian troops killed several Boko Haram Islamist militants on Monday as they tried to re-take Konduga town in Borno State. The military engaged the Islamist militants as early as 5a.m Monday morning when they came in their hundreds to re-take the town liberated by the military recently. According to a source, the troops were able to over-run the insurgents, killing many of them, while those trying to escape were captured. As at the time of filing in this report, our source said that situation has since been brought under control in the town as the Nigerian troops have completely re-asserted their control of the town. Meanwhile, in its continued rampage through Boko Haram infested territories in the North East, Nigerian troops on Sunday night invaded Kukawa Geri, Gujba in Yobe State determined to flush out the insurgents from their remaining hideouts.
