Onyebuchi Chukwu, the Minister for Health,  has confirmed the detection of two new Ebola cases in Nigeria.

The minister said, on Friday, that the new cases are spouses of two health workers who had direct contact with Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer, who flew into the country last month with the virus and infected 11 others before he died.

The two health workers later died.

With the confirmation, the number of confirmed infections in Nigeria  to 14, including Sawyer. Five patients have died, five have recovered and four are being treated in Lagos.
