Lafarge Q1 profit up 20 percent
Lafarge Wapco said on Monday its first-quarter pretax profit rose to N8.62 billion ($54 million), up 20 percent from N7.20 billion in the same period of last year.
Turnover at the Nigerian unit of France’s Lafarge, rose to N27.03 billion during the three months to March, against N23.23 billion a year earlier, it said in a filing with Nigerian Stock Exchange.
Unity Bank posts N33.6 billion 2013 pretax loss
Unity Bank on Monday posted a pretax loss of N33.6 billion($209 million) for 2013, against a N6.45 billion profit in the same period last year.
Gross earnings at the mid-tier lender rose to N52.2 billion during the twelve months period to December 31, compared with N41.2 billion a year earlier.
Cadbury Nigeria Q1 profit falls 31 percent
Cadbury Nigeria said on Monday its first-quarter pretax profit fell to N1.15 billion ($7.2 million), down 31 percent from 1.67 billion naira in the same period of last year.
The chocolate maker said turnover fell to N6.92 billion during the three month period, against N8.36 billion in the same quarter a year ago.
Guinness Nigeria says 9-month profit down 30 percent
Guinness Nigeria said on Monday its nine-month pretax profit fell to 7.82 billion naira ($48.6 million), down 30 percent from 11.23 billion naira in the same period of last year.
Turnover at the local unit of Diageo, also fell to 78.01 billion naira during the period, compared with 88.05 billion naira a year earlier.
Skye Bank Q1 profit down 25.5 per cent
Skye Bank said on Monday its first-quarter pretax profit fell to N3.45 billion ($21.5 million), down 25.5 percent from 4.63 billion naira in the same period of last year.
Gross earnings at the mid-tier lender also dropped to 34.33 billion naira during the three-month period, against 34.69 billion a year earlier.
