Osinbajo presides over extended FEC to address outstanding memos

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is currently presiding over an extended meeting of the Federal Executive Council FEC.

The FEC which started on Wednesday could not be completed as several memos listed for consideration and approval were not treated as at the close of FEC on Wednesday.

The Vice President is presiding over the FEC as President Muhammadu Buhari jetted out of Abuja for the lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia, following his acceptance of an invitation of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the ruler of Saudi Arabia and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to perform the Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) in the Kingdom.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, had indicated that the President who would be accompanied by close personal aides, would embark on the journey from Thursday, 16th May.

The FEC meeting which commenced at about 4 pm Nigeria time, is expected to drag into late in the night as all the outstanding memos are expected to be treated during the meeting
