2019 Elections: Why Reyenieju is the man for Warri Federal Constituency – Activist

Daniel Reyenieju

Few days to the February 16 general elections an environmental activist, Mr Hosanna Jalogho-Williams has given the people of Warri, Delta State reasons why they should vote for the incubent Federal House of Representatives member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Hon Daniel Reyenieju.

Jalogho-Williams who spoke to our correspondent in Warri on Wednesday, said Hon Reyenieju was the right man for the position because he has been able to bring federal presence to the Warri Federal constituency.

He said the legislative prowess of Hon Reyenieju has brought about the dredging of the Escravos River which will bring a lot of jobs opportunities to the people of Warri Federal Constituency.

Jalogho-Williams noted that because of the dredging of the Escravos bar, vessels now come to Warri, adding that with this development, Warri will soon become a business hub like Lagos and PortHarcourt.

He said the former Delta Steel Company now known as Premium Steel and Mines Ltd (PSML), Ovwian Aladja, Delta State, last week received three Russian vessels with each of them carrying about 15,000 metric tones of billets which it will use to start production of steel soon.

He said, “Go to the former Delta Steel Company which people think is dead and you will be surprised at what you are going to see there. In the last two weeks three Russian Vessels have come with 15,000 thousand metric tones of billet through the Warri River. They want to start production in phases and very soon the prices of rods will plummet.

“The election that is going to take place on the 16 of February is going to be the most credible. So there is nothing you can do about it. Nigerians are going to filter the candidates and bring in the best in their sector to represent them anywhere.

“So if you ask me, my own suggestion or inference, because it will never change, is the fact that we let the man like Reyenieju go back so that he can do more because he has understood the nitty gritty of parliamentarianism. He has been there for three term, so why don’t we allow him to go back for the forth time.”

Jalogho-WIlliams, also appealed to the people of Warri Federal Constituency to vote for Hon Reyenieju in Saturday’s election saying that they cannot afford to vote for people who do not have what it takes to represent them.

“There are 360 people in the Federal House of Representatives and Hon Daniel Reyenieju is number 26. If you give him the opportunity to go back to the House, he might to become number five or ten.

“I remember when Reyenieju got there for the first time, the place was very strange to him. They set up a committee and six parliamentarians were asked to work with him. It was not easy for him that time but he was able to balance himself because of the support he got from the people with him who had interest in parliamentarianism.

“If we lose this opportunity for Reyenieju to go back we are going to start afresh. There is a lot of lobbying going on the Green House and I do not think Chief Thomas Ereyitomi or Comrade Alex Eyengho know these people,” Jalogho-Williams said.

“I want to advice the electorate that you can take whatever money given by any politician and vote whoever you know will sustain your existence. Take from the person who you think can give you so much money but vote for the person who you know can give you good representation. Four years is not a joke,” he added.
