Cloud Exchange West Africa data technical school in partnership with Huawei technologies have graduated its first set of trainees, following an intensive six months free training programme in networking and data management in Lagos.
The 37 successful young Nigerian graduates, were also awarded Huawei HCNP-Cloud international certification which validates the knowledge and skills required to construct and manage cloud data centre and desktop cloud system.
The technical school which started in June this year was designed to build the graduates knowledge specifically in networking, with a strategic intent to accelerate a solution-oriented application of technology in solving social and business problems.
Speaking at the maiden graduating ceremony and career fair, Olebogeng Glad Dibetso Chief Executive Officer, of Cloud Exchange Technical School charged the graduating trainees to keep improving on what they have learnt.

“With the pace of change in technology, the goal for knowledge is continuous, do not let what you have learnt during the training be a final destination, push through every day to stay updated with the latest shift, that is only way to succeed in this career you have chosen, learning must be imbedded in your DNA,” he advised.
Dibetso further stressed the need for the graduant to be open-minded on criticism, believe in themselves noting “creativity rises only in the presence of diversity”.
The Director, Huawei Nigeria Enterprise Channel Department Mr Ken Zhaowenjun restated the company’s resolve to always add values to the lives of Nigerians.
“For us as a company, being part of a programme like this is one we are very proud of, our target has always been providing access to cutting-edge solutions for thousands the Nigeria market, we strongly believe this training will contribute in closing the gap on technical skills.
Zhao affirmed the commitment of the management of the company to continuously remain in the forefront of driving IT revolution in Africa especially Nigeria.
Mohammed Aliyu, Executive Principal of Cloud Exchange technical school, he noted that the training is an opportunity to add value in the lives of young Nigerians, while thanking Huawei technologies for comprehensive partnership. “Throughout the training Huawei has been amazing, and also sponsoring one of our trainee Nicholas Kenechukwu to china to attend 2018, Seed for the future programme.”
Describing the training as intensive he stated, “For six months, the graduates have been immersed in the world of networking, two have already received automatic employment with us, and all 37 were able to sit and pass the international certification exam during the training.”
“Technology has opened a new business and employment opportunities, the skills these graduating students have been exposed to will definitely enable access to higher paying jobs,” he remarked.
Also speaking, Gogontile Nelly Aliyu, program manager of the school, describe the graduating students as a hardworking, passionate set.
“From the conception to the birth of the technical school in June this year, it was all about, having a total tech savvy graduates, the reason, Great Place to Work was engaged to prepare them on soft skills during the training.
“This is the first set of many to come, we strongly believe the technical school we help bridge the skill gap, and provide a very assure route to meaningful employment for Nigerians,” she noted.
One of the beneficiaries, 18-year-old Oyebola Abiodun, who also emerged as the best graduate could not hide his joy as he described the programme as a dream come true.
“The entire program has been a wonderful opportunity to develop my passion, a dream come true to something I can make a living from, the programme has set me on the right path to business and career growth!”
