Fifth Chukker Polo & Country Resort and its partners, Access Bank Plc and UNICEF treated thousands of children from selected schools across the state to a whole day of fun, as part of events lined up at the ongoing Access Bank UNICEF Charity Shield Polo Tournament in Kaduna.

The Children Day event which has for over five years been one of the highlights of the international polo fiesta at the ongoing, has

received high profile accolades as an occasion that enable children to cherish their buoyant freedom and rekindle their childhood and the potentials within them.

Dr. Bahijjatu Bello Garko of UNFPA hails Fifth Chukker and Access Bank Plc for providing the platform during the charity polo tournament for the Nigerian children to mark the 2017 Children Day in a most special way.

“There is an important need for both private and public sectors to do a lot more in support of the Nigerian child, particularly the orphans and vulnerable children to enable them look forward to a better tomorrow,” the Garko added.

Speaking earlier, Access Bank Zonal Head CBD Zone, Kaduna, Abubakar Kaita said the bank will continue to support UNICEF in its campaign to protect the interest of the Nigerian child.

“The 2017 edition of the Charity Shield Polo Tournament is more than an affirmation of our commitment to socio-economic wellbeing of children  and acknowledgement of the  impact this  initiative has had on the lives of the orphaned and vulnerable children in Kaduna State and its environ,” Kaita pointed out.

The Charity Shield match Friday will pitch two Lagos based teams, Tavia- Goodfellows and Leighton Kings, while Rubicon from Abuja and

Keffi Ponys from Nasarawa State are billed to go head-to head on Saturday.
