Lagos State government has announced the restriction of traffic access from the service lane into the Ikorodu Road at the Ojota loop inward Ikorodu.

Also closed, according to a statement by Biola Fagunwa, director of public affairs in the state ministry of transport, is access from the highway into the service lane.

The state said this became necessary to manage traffic along the axis and maximise the gains of various traffic management strategies adopted.

“All those intending to link the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway are to take their journey through the service lane to link up at the Loop. There are exits into the service lane just after the Ojota Garage and after the pedestrian bridges along the Ikorodu bound traffic.

While traffic control personnel and appropriate signs have been installed, it is pertinent to ask motorists to partner with them to ensured free flow of traffic.”

The state appealed motorists especially the commercial bus operators to restrict their activities to the service lanes and ensure that they use designated bus stops “for picking and dropping passengers”.
