Yussuff Lasun, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives on Thursday called on India government to assist Nigeria in the area of vocational education on technology.
Lasun gave the charge during an interactive session held in Abuja, with Indian delegation led by Indian Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari.
The lawmaker who noted that both India and Nigeria strong bilateral relations, stressed the need to strengthen the areas of cooperation.
According to him, “Nigeria is in dare need of economic recovery and we are working in that direction. We are committed to this relationship.
“We seek for assistance in the area of education particularly area of vocational education.
“A nation without indigenous technology can not develop, therefore we are seeking for assistance with a view to improving our technology.”
While responding, Mohammed Hamid Ansari assured Nigerians that they were ready to help in the areas where Nigeria needs assistance and also exchange ideas where necessary.
