Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Monday disclosed that cattle grazing, commercial motorcycle, street hawking and begging remain banned in the Federal Capital City, Abuja.

To this end, the FCT minister, Muhammd Bello, who presided over the FCT security committee meeting, directed relevant security apparatus to enforce the policies.

Bello stressed that the FCT administration would continue to collaborate with the security agencies to ensure that the ban was made effective while following all due processes.

The minister also emphasised that the institutions must be strengthened to carry out their statutory duties in line with the change agenda of the Federal Government.

While acknowledging the role played by the security agencies toward ensuring security of lives and property across the territory so far, he commended the security community in the FCT for the high-level intelligence sharing.

The Security Committee thus condemned the illegal attempt by some criminal gangs that stormed the Vocational and Rehabilitation Centre, Kuchiko in Bwari Area Council, trying to rescue some of the inmates at the centre, following the arrest of 687 beggars/destitute.

The Committee also decried the illegal use of uncompleted buildings by destitute, miscreants and criminals in the FCT, warning that owners of such property would be held responsible for any security breath traced to their property.

He reiterated that owners of such uncompleted buildings must provide security in and around such property, and also ensure the cleanliness of the surrounding areas.
