The Commission took the decision at its 445th meeting presided by its chairman, Adamu Mohammed Fika, and had conveyed its position to the former deputy clerk of the House.
“I am writing to inform you that the National Assembly Service Commission has at its 445th meeting held on Thursday 8th September 2016 approved your appointment as Clerk to the House of Representatives. The appointment takes effect from 31st August 2016
“The appointment, which was based on the recommendation of the Clerk to the National Assembly, is in recognition of your hard work, dedication to duty and responsible conduct as well as loyalty to the leadership of the National Assembly.
“It is therefore expected that you will continue to justify the confidence reposed in you by the Commission and the leadership of the National Assembly,” according to a letter sent to Basil.
The former House Clerk, Mohammed Sani-Omolori, effectively took over as Clerk to the National Assembly on Monday, August 15, 2016 following the retirement of former Clerk, Salisu Maikasuwa earlier in June 2016.
