Federal Government has declared Monday and Tuesday, September 12 and 13, as public holidays, to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the country.
Abdulrahman Dambazau, minister of interior, made this known through a statement signed on his behalf by Muhammadu Maccido, the ministry’s acting permanent secretary.
Dambazau said “Muslims and Nigerians should join hands to support President Muhammadu Buhari as he tries to diversify the economy and accelerate the economic recovery,” saying the Federal Government was aware of the challenges facing the people.
The minister said the agriculture sector, youth empowerment scheme in information and communication technology (ICT) was being worked on by the Federal Government.
The Federal Government is also working on the “Change Begins with Me” re-orientation programme among other social intervention programmes.
