Nigeria U-17 handler Manu Garba has promised that his lads will get a win at Niger Republic in the second leg, first round of the 2017 U17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Tobiloba Alagbe’s first half goal handed the Golden Eaglets victory in Abuja on Saturday.
And the tactician has revealed that he would correct the lapses discovered in the first leg to ensure victory against the Menas before their home fans.
“It is a good result. Scoring many goals was our expectation. We created many chances but the boys could not convert them. This is football for you,” Garba said after the game.
“We have seen all the lapses, especially when it comes to scoring goals; we will work on them. By God’s grace, we are going to beat them in Niger. We are very confident that we will sail through by the special grace of God.
“The Niger Republic team will be under pressure on their home ground. I am assuring Nigerians that we are going to win in Niger. We cannot afford to go out of this competition at this stage.
“We have barely two weeks to correct all the mistakes we have noticed in this match. We are going to Sokoto and stay there for a week to acclimatize from there we move to Niger,” he concluded.
