All set for Access Bank Lagos City Marathon

 The maiden edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon kicks off on Saturday with over one hundred and fifty local and international elite athletes set for the race.

GlaxoSmithKline, maker of Lucozade Sport, the No.1 sport and fitness drink, has announced the brand as the official drink sponsor for the first ever-full marathon to hold in Lagos Nigeria. The 42-kilometre run is scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 6th, 2016 in Lagos.

Ms. Aigbeme Momoh, the company’s group product manager made the announcement recently in a press statement.

According to her, the decision of the company to support the Marathon with one of its leading brands, Lucozade Sport, is in a bid to encourage a healthy lifestyle among its consumers in Nigeria as well as energise the numerous athletes and participants who will be coming from nationwide and various parts of the world for the race.

Just like the Dubai Marathon, the Lagos City Marathon has been put together to boost the country’s economy as well as showcase our City of Excellence, Lagos State to the world. It is expected to attract thousands of spectators and have up to 40,000 participants. The event starts at the entrance of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, while the finishing line will be at the Sales Office of Eko Atlantic, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
