Media Perspectives, Nigeria’s media independent agency, has launched a Nigerian Media Advertising Guide.

The Ad Guide, launched on Friday, December 4, 2015 at a well-attended event in Lagos, is a research and data compilation that gives marketing communications professionals the research tools they need to reach consumers in Nigeria.

This Tayo Oyedeji, Media Perspectives’ managing director, called “one of the most complex markets in the world.”

The keynote address titled, “Consumer Research and Marketing: Doing it right in Nigeria,” was delivered by Iquo Ukoh of Nestle Nigeria, and Biodun Shobanjo, chairman of Troyka Group, welcomed the audience by giving them a historical perspective of the Group’s leadership role in pioneering media independent specialist agencies in Nigeria and West Africa.

Delivering the keynote address, Iquo Ukoh stressed the importance of research in understanding the consumer who was the essence of all marketing activities, and elucidated with several cases from her wealth of experience.

The event also featured a panel discussion, which x-rayed the effects of research on effective marketing communications and advertising campaigns with both local and international case studies. The discussion panel comprised experts in the marketing communications industry, including Feyi Olubodun, general manager, Insight Communications, Tayo Oyedeji, CEO, Media Perspectives, Jude Odia, media director, Media Perspectives, and Iquo Ukoh.

While launching the book, Oyedeji gave a background to his agency’s decision to contribute to the growth of the media advertising industry with relevant insights drawn from analysed data, saying “the book is a concise research data documentation that would help marketing professionals understand and work effectively in the Nigerian media market.”
