Kwamoti La’ori, Member representing Numan, Demsa, Lamurde Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has distributed farm inputs to farmers across the three local government areas in a bid to boost agricultural production, improve food security and support rural livelihoods in Adamawa State.

The distribution, which covered Numan, Demsa and Lamurde Local Government Areas, saw beneficiaries receive, fertilizers, knapsack sprayers and herbicides to support farming activities during the current wet season.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, La’ori said the intervention was designed to empower farmers, particularly women and youths in rural communities, while helping them cope with the prevailing economic challenges.

He said that with many families facing difficult economic conditions, providing agricultural support was one of the most effective ways to improve livelihoods and increase food production.

The lawmaker assured his constituents of his continued commitment to programmes that would improve their welfare, promising to sustain interventions that promote economic empowerment and community development.

Innocent Koto, Chairman of Numan Local Government Area, and his Lamurde counterpart, Bulus Daniel, commended La’ori for what they described as a timely intervention.

They said the lawmaker had consistently demonstrated commitment to the welfare of his constituents through people-oriented programmes.

“La’ori has always stood by his people in times of need. This intervention has come at the right time when farmers need support the most. We are optimistic that it will lead to a bumper harvest and help address food shortages in our communities”, they both said.

The Council chairmen noted that access to essential farm inputs would improve crop yields, reduce production costs and increase farmers’ incomes, thereby strengthening food security across the constituency.

Some beneficiaries, including Pwarikai Job and John Inusa, expressed gratitude for the gesture, saying the support would ease the financial burden of farming and encourage them to cultivate larger hectares of land this season.

The distribution forms part of La’ori’s constituency development initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture, improving rural livelihoods and enhancing food production in Numan, Demsa and Lamurde Federal Constituency.
