Lakunle Runsewe, chief executive officer (CEO) of Stretford Hill Limited, has reiterated that strong institutions remained indispensable to national development.
According to him, sustainable development depends on an environment where businesses can invest with confidence, contracts are respected and institutions provide the stability required for long-term growth.
“At Stretford Hill, we believe infrastructure is more than the physical assets we build,” Runsewe said in a statement, highlighting the partnership between Stretford Hill and the Lagos branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
He also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening institutions that enable sustainable infrastructure development through its bronze sponsorship of the NBA Lagos Branch Law Week 2026.
“As technology continues to reshape industries, collaboration between engineers, legal practitioners, policymakers and business leaders will become even more important,” he stated.
The 2026 Law Week theme, ‘Lawyering in the Digital Age: Navigating Technology, Justice & Innovation,’ examined how digital transformation is reshaping legal practice, governance and the wider economy.
Runsewe reiterated that the partnership reflects a core belief that sustainable infrastructure depends not only on engineering excellence, but also on strong institutions, legal certainty and an environment that inspires business and investor confidence.
He added that building resilient infrastructure requires transparent governance, accountability and a shared commitment to innovation. “We are proud to support a platform that is advancing these conversations and contributing to Nigeria’s future.”
Runsewe disclosed that Nigeria’s infrastructure ambitions will be realised through stronger partnerships between industry, government and professional institutions.
According to him, such partnership will help in creating an enabling environment for responsible investment, innovation and sustainable development.
“As technology continues to redefine and reshape the practice of law, it reminds us of the need to embrace innovation, adapt, and confidently navigate the technological era in which we now practice,” Omoyemi Akangbe, former NBA Lagos branch chairman, stated.
He added that the theme of this conference is not only timely but essential. According to him, lawyers must fully embrace technology in their approach to global relevance.
“I hope the deliberations have inspired fresh ideas. I hope the discussions have challenged and awakened us to our responsibilities and to the steps we must take as lawyers to remain relevant and competitive in today’s world,” Akangbe stated.
