2027: Anambra APC sets up reconciliation committee, ratifies expulsion of seven members

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Anambra state chapter has ratified the expulsion of seven prominent members of the party over alleged violations of party guidelines arising from the aftermath of its recent primary elections.

The decision was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting on Friday in Awka which was presided over by the State Chairman, Sen. Emma Anosike.

Those whose expulsions were said to have been ratified include the State Legal Adviser, Richard Egenti, Ifeanyi Osegbo, Chukwudi Kenneth Oji, Arinze Awogu, Tony Uche Ezekwelu, Bossy Nwoye, and Uju Onyeanusi.

The stakeholders said the disciplinary measures were taken in line with the party’s constitution and internal regulations aimed at preserving discipline and unity within the APC.

In a move to heal divisions and strengthen party cohesion ahead of future electoral contests, the meeting also approved the establishment of a reconciliation committee headed by Obi Onwuachu.

According to party leaders, the committee has been mandated to engage aggrieved members, address grievances arising from the primary election process, and foster unity within the party ranks.

Anosike while speaking during the meeting expressed concern over the financial challenges faced by the party throughout the conduct of the recently concluded primaries.

He noted that funding constraints significantly affected several party activities during the exercise.

Despite the challenges, he urged members to remain committed to the party’s growth and work collectively toward strengthening the APC’s chances in future elections.

The stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to party unity, discipline, and reconciliation as the APC prepares for upcoming political engagements in the state.
