Ochiora Tochukwu, founder of Dontus Perfume Oil, has attributed the company’s growth in Nigeria’s fragrance industry to continuous learning, innovation, and exposure to global cultures acquired through extensive international travel.

Speaking on the journey of the Lagos-based perfume brand, Tochukwu said the pursuit of knowledge and understanding consumer needs have remained central to the company’s success over the past decade.

According to him, Dontus Perfume Oil has built a strong presence in Nigeria’s fragrance market by offering premium undiluted perfume oils designed to eliminate unpleasant odours while enhancing users’ confidence and personal appearance.

“Our commitment is not only to provide quality fragrances but also to promote good hygiene and personal well-being through products that help people feel confident and presentable every day,” he said.

Tochukwu noted that the company’s long-term strategy extends beyond retail sales, revealing plans to establish local production of undiluted perfume oils in Nigeria. He said the initiative is expected to create employment opportunities for young Nigerians while reducing dependence on imported products.

As part of its expansion drive, Dontus Perfume Oil, which sources its premium fragrance oils directly from France, plans to intensify awareness campaigns on the importance of personal care and hygiene across the country.

Industry stakeholders observe that perfume oils are gaining increasing acceptance among young Nigerians due to their long-lasting fragrance, higher concentration levels, and suitability for daily use, creating fresh growth opportunities within the personal care market.
