This May, theater enthusiasts and cultural connoisseurs are set to experience a profound exploration of human desire, culture, and resilience as the highly anticipated stage play, “I Wish, I Wish,” takes center stage at the iconic National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, on May 30th, 2026.

Serving as a cornerstone of the National Theatre’s curated “May Season”—a vibrant cultural campaign bridging traditional performing arts and contemporary digital expression—”I Wish, I Wish” promises to captivate audiences with its rich narrative depth, brilliant performances, exceptional production value created and directed by proud African roots. The play masterfully weaves a tapestry of African storytelling, challenging perceptions and sparking meaningful conversations about our collective and individual aspirations.

The staging of “I Wish, I Wish” on May 31st coincides with a broader celebration of creativity at the National Theatre this month, offering audiences a unique opportunity to engage with premium theatrical artistry right in the heart of Iganmu, Lagos.
