Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms for the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
Atiku arrived at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja alongside a large crowd of supporters and party members who gathered to witness the submission exercise.
The heavy crowd created tension within the party’s secretariat as supporters struggled to gain access to the hall, leading to the damage of the entrance door during the commotion.

Despite the fanfare surrounding his visit, the former vice president declined to speak with journalists after submitting the forms.
Some of his political associates attributed the development to the large crowd and security concerns at the venue.
Atiku is among the leading aspirants seeking the ADC presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 election.
Other notable figures who have obtained the party’s presidential nomination forms include Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, business mogul.
