Blacknest Africa has continued its efforts to support entrepreneurs in Nigeria through training and grant funding, disbursing more than N1,000,000 in grants through its Business Plan Workshops held in Lagos and Jos.

The programme began in Lagos in April 2025, where entrepreneurs gathered for training focused on business planning, financial structure, and funding readiness. The workshop introduced a format that combines training with access to funding, aimed at helping participants move from ideas to business execution.

A key part of the Lagos event was a pitch session, where entrepreneurs presented their ideas to a panel, and one participant received a N100,000 grant to support business development.

In November 2025, the programme moved to Jos. The event brought together one of the largest gatherings of entrepreneurs for a training event on the Plateau and included a pitch session where N1,000,000 in grants was awarded to three entrepreneurs. The session focused on identifying business ideas with clear plans for growth and sustainability.

Across both locations, the training addressed gaps in business knowledge, particularly in planning and access to finance. Participants engaged in sessions designed to improve their ability to manage and grow their businesses.

“Our focus is simple,” a representative of Blacknest Africa stated. “We are not just teaching, we are equipping and funding entrepreneurs to build businesses that can survive and scale.”

The organisation’s approach links training with financial support, creating a structure that allows participants to apply what they learn.

Following these events, Blacknest Africa has announced plans to hold similar workshops in other cities. The organisation also plans to expand its activities beyond Nigeria, with the aim of reaching more entrepreneurs across Africa.

The initiative highlights the growing need for structured training and improved access to funding for emerging businesses.
