…Veronica’s Daughter group vows to help women create balance, form a force

Port Harcourt has got its first online community for women businesses aimed at helping women build a force.

The project was launched by Ella Chioma Ezeadiliyeje, known as Veronica’s Daughter, the convener of Business Balance, who emphasized the need to strike a balance while building successful careers and businesses.

The theme was: ‘Beyond the Bank: Redefining Wealth, Worth, and Well-being.’

She said the summit has taken place four times and has now, for the very first time, gone into a community. “We are building something that would help each and every one of us. We’re building something that would translate into action.”

In her opening remarks, Ezeadiliyeje said the group has gone from talks to action. “Now, this year, in this very event today, we will be launching our very first online community, the ‘Cube Collective’.

She stated thus: “It’s a community where we will take the lessons we have learned here and break them into actionable point.

“We will support each other. Now, we also realize that one of the things that are inimical to your growth is the environment where you are, no matter how good and fertile your seed is, if it is planted on rocky soil, if it is planted of Sandy soil, chances of growing are slim to none.

“But if those seeds are planted in very fertile soil, given the right nutrition, sunlight, better manure or fertilizer, they will grow and blossom. So that’s exactly what the Cube Collective is, and we will be expecting a lot of you, those who can, to join and those who cannot just yet to make plans towards it. So I want to employ you as the speakers come, as the panel sections are heard jot down with.”

By the event, the city of Port Harcourt witnessed a vibrant gathering at the B3 Business Balance and Beyond Summit, which brought together entrepreneurs, professionals, and aspiring business owners in search of growth and direction.

The convener of the summit, further emphasized the need to strike a balance while building successful careers and businesses.

She encouraged individuals and organizations, particularly women, to take advantage of opportunities that support both personal and professional development.

According to her, the summit is designed to equip participants with practical tools to grow their businesses while maintaining good health and strong family relationships.

She added; “People either depend too much or focus too much on their business, or for the women especially, they just do household, family, wife, mother, but they don’t feel fulfilled. The business, the brand you want to build, you can have it all. It’s about balance.

“Come and learn how to create systems that will help you. Systems that can help you become a better wife, a better mother, and still achieve the goals and dreams you have set for yourself.

“And the truth of the matter is, women are disenfranchised by the virtue of the definition of family we have. So we are trying very hard to bridge that gap. Men have it all as far as I’m concerned. Men are free literally to achieve their dreams; all they have to do is bring out money. For the women, they will bring out money, they will use their time and effort—in fact, most of them sacrifice their whole life to family without achieving anything.”

Some participants described the summit as an eye-opening experience, offering new insights into managing time effectively and accelerating business growth.

Another speaker said marketing isn’t just by chance. “You have to be intentional about your presence. You shouldn’t leave marketing to chance; you have to learn to follow up, you have to learn strategies on how to get customers to come back, again and again. I would have been angry if I missed it, actually.”

A participant added: “I actually like the fact that he focused more on business strategies and then helping you build your brand, and how to get customers, and how to strategize your business. So I actually like the fact that I’ve gained a lot of knowledge.”

Yet, another said: “You need to have a structure for your business to go well. You cannot just have goals without having a power foundation of how the business is going to run. Business naturally should pressure you, that it’s all curated. You should work at your pace and not follow the trend.”

The summit attracted over 2,000 participants from within and outside Port Harcourt. The theme for this year is “Beyond the Bank: Redefining Wealth, Worth, and Well-being.”
