The troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected terrorist ammunition courier during an intelligence-led operation in Kogi State.

According to security sources, the arrest was made at about 6:30 p.m at the weekend at Ahokon in Koton Karfe, following credible intelligence on the movement of the suspect, who had been on the watchlist of the Security Agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS).

The sources equally disclosed that troops of 12 Brigade of Nigerian Army swiftly responded to the information and intercepted the suspect.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, reported that the suspect was shot in the thigh while attempting to escape arrest.

The suspect was immediately stabilised and is currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
