Eid-el-Fitr: Bogoro chairman calls for peace, unity

Yakubu Lawi Sumi, chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, on Friday felicitated with Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and the entire Muslim Ummah on the successful and completion of the Ramadan fasting and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

In his congratulatory message, the chairman called for prayers, peace and unity in Bogoro, Bauchi and Nigeria at large.

The council boss said that the discipline, sacrifice, and devotion demonstrated over the last 30 days remind people that with patience and steadfastness, even the most demanding journeys can be completed with a sense of fulfilment, and purpose.

He said that the lessons of Ramadan call for reflection, self-restraint, love, and a renewed commitment to the peaceful coexistence and service to mankind.

He urged them to carry the lessons of the Ramadan into their daily lives, working together for peace and unity of the land.

“I recognize that Eid-el-Fitr marks the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, a sacred period in Islam devoted to fasting, prayer, self-discipline, charity, and deep spiritual reflection,” he said.

He also acknowledged the commitment shown by the Muslim faithful throughout Ramadan in strengthening their relationship with Allah, extending compassion to the less privileged, and promoting unity, humility, and moral uprightness within communities.

The chairman emphasized that the lessons of Ramadan deals with sacrifice, patience, love, and generosity must continue to guide people, not only in their personal lives but also in their collective responsibility to build a peaceful, united, and progressive society.

He commended the efforts of the governor, purposeful leadership and unwavering commitment to both human and infrastructural development, peace, and stability in the state.

He further called on the people of the local government and Bauchi State to use the celebration period as an opportunity to strengthen unity across religious and ethnic lines, as peaceful coexistence remains the bedrock of meaningful development.
