The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has commenced Phase 8 of its Constituency and Executive Projects Tracking Exercise in Katsina State, monitoring a total of 39 projects valued at N13.5 billion Naira across the state’s senatorial districts and federal constituencies.
The tracking team, comprising seasoned officers from the ICPC Headquarters and the Katsina State Office, is working in collaboration with representatives of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and the media to ensure accountability, value for money, and adherence to project specifications.
Ludam Samuel, the team lead and Director Operations, while speaking during the exercise on Friday in Katsina, noted that, “So far, we are satisfied in some while in others the contractors will be mandated to return to site to remedy the gaps identified”.
So far, the team has inspected several health facility projects within the Katsina metropolis, as well as road projects in Funtua and Kankia. Water supply schemes were also tracked in Kurfi, Dutsin-Ma, Mashi and Dutsi local government areas of the state.
In the education sector, school projects were monitored in Kafur, Sandamu, Daura and Mai’Adua local government areas of the state as well. The team also assessed the installation of solar-powered street lights and reviewed several empowerment programmes implemented across the state.

The Phase 8 tracking exercise is part of the ICPC’s ongoing nationwide efforts to enhance transparency and ensure that constituency projects funded with public resources are properly executed for the benefit of citizens.
