Ahead of Nigeria’s 55th Independence anniversary celebration, British Airways (BA) has introduced 28 percent discount fares on flights from the country to the United Kingdom (UK) and select destinations in Europe.

According to the carrier, the discount fares are available on its World Traveller, World Traveller Plus and the award-winning Club World cabins for outbound travel from Nigeria between September 18 and November 29.

It said sale of tickets would be between September 18 and 25.

Commenting on the independence anniversary fares, Kola Olayinka, regional commercial manager, West Africa, BA, disclosed that fares to London for the celebration start from $425 in World Traveller, $1,055 in World Traveller plus and $2,855 in Club World for flights to UK, respectively.

Olayinka added that flights to Europe and other destinations start from $525 in World Traveller cabin.

He explained that the fares, which are available in both Abuja and Lagos, were exclusive of all taxes, fees, charges and surcharges and subject to availability, adding that the discounted fares still come with all the benefits of flying with a full-service carrier.

“This offer has once again underscored the fact that, the customer is always at the heart of our business at BA. The discounted fares are in line with our strong market focus of being pro-actively responsive to customers’ needs, and highlight another example of BA’ commitment to offering more value for money for its teeming Nigerian customers.

“Congratulation to Nigeria at 55; we all need a strong Nigeria, Africa and the world needs a strong and prosperous Nigeria to continue contributing her quota in the committee of nations,” he said.
