Nigeria’s leading broadband and digital services provider, Ntel, has entered into a strategic partnership with renewable energy innovator Sunfi to develop a nationwide network of Clean Energy Parks — advanced hubs delivering alternative and sustainable energy solutions for electric vehicles, electric bikes, businesses, households, and neighborhoods across Nigeria.
The collaboration is further strengthened through the support it brings to the telecommunications industry, given the critical importance of reliable alternative power solutions to the sector.
This landmark partnership combines Ntel’s robust physical and telecommunications infrastructure, extensive fiber and data capabilities, and digital platforms with Sunfi’s clean energy models, solar deployment expertise, and commitment to renewable technology. Together, the partners aim to accelerate Nigeria’s energy transition by delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable power to both urban and rural communities.
The Clean Energy Parks will serve as integrated, technology-driven ecosystems providing:
• EV and e-bike fast-charging stations powered by renewable energy
• Solar and hybrid power solutions for businesses and homes
• Energy access points for neighborhoods and industrial clusters
• Digital energy management systems across Ntel’s telecom network
• Telecommunications-enabled facilities that integrate connectivity with clean energy infrastructure to ensure exceptional performance and quality service.
Speaking on the partnership, Afolabi Oladunjoye, COO of Ntel, stated:
“Our collaboration with Sunfi marks a major step in advancing Nigeria’s energy and digital future. Together, we are building connected, sustainable communities powered by clean energy and intelligent networks.”
Rotimi Thomas, CEO and Co-founder of Sunfi, added:
“This partnership embodies our vision to democratize access to clean energy while enabling economic growth. By leveraging the combined strengths of Ntel, we are creating scalable Clean Energy Parks that support the telecommunications industry, power electric mobility, energize homes, and boost productivity nationwide.”
The initial rollout of pilot Clean Energy Parks will begin in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt in late 2025, followed by phased expansion to other regions. These hubs will also host energy storage systems and smart metering technologies, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
Through this partnership, Ntel and Sunfi are driving Nigeria toward a greener, more connected future — where clean energy and digital innovation intersect to power the nation’s growth.
