Akor Adams scored his first La Liga goal to give Sevilla a late 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
The Nigerian striker, signed from Montpellier for €5.5 million last season but hampered by injuries, struck in the 87th minute to hand Sevilla their third consecutive away win in the league.

Adams showed his poacher’s instinct, latching onto a cross from José Ángel Carmona before firing past Stole Dimitrievski to silence the home crowd.
The goal ended a frustrating run for the 25-year-old, who had yet to find the net for Los Rojiblancos since his arrival in January.

Injuries have limited Adams to just nine league appearances from a possible 24, but Sevilla coach Quique Sánchez Flores has continued to back him.
After flashes of promise in pre-season and an assist earlier this campaign, his decisive strike may now open the door to more regular starts, with a huge home clash against Barcelona looming on October 5.
The win lifted Sevilla to eighth in the table with 10 points, while struggling Rayo Vallecano remain 16th and mired in a losing streak.
