The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has discovered seven oil and gas deposits in the Kingdom’s Eastern Province and Empty Quarter, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
According to SPA, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, energy minister announced the discovery on Monday, citing that Saudi Aramco had discovered two unconventional oil fields, a reservoir of light Arabian oil, two natural gas fields, and two natural gas reservoirs.
Saudi Arabia has uncovered two unconventional oil fields and one reservoir in its Eastern Province, alongside two natural gas fields and two reservoirs in the vast Empty Quarter desert.
The “Ladam” unconventional oil field has been discovered in the Eastern Province, showcasing a significant find. The Ladam-2 well has yielded very light Arabian oil at an impressive rate of 5,100 barrels per day, coupled with approximately 4.9 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
Another major discovery in the Eastern Province is the “Al-Farouk” unconventional oil field. The Al-Farouk-4 well has produced Arab ultra-light oil at a robust rate of 4,557 barrels per day, alongside about 3.79 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. This find reinforces the area’s capacity for high-yield oil extraction.

In the Mazalij field of the Eastern Province, the “Unayzah B/C” reservoir has been identified. From the Mazalij-62 well, Arab Light oil has flowed at a steady rate of 1,780 barrels per day, accompanied by roughly 0.7 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
In the expansive Empty Quarter, the “Al-Jahaq” field has been discovered, producing significant natural gas flows. The Al-Jahaq-1 well tapped into the “Al-Arab-C” reservoir, yielding 5.3 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
Also the “Al-Arab-D” reservoir, with an output of 1.1 million standard cubic feet per day. These discoveries mark a notable increase in the region’s gas production capacity.
The “Al-Katuf” field, also in the Empty Quarter, has been a key find. The Al-Katuf-1 well has produced natural gas at a rate of 7.6 million standard cubic feet per day, along with about 40 barrels of condensate daily. This finding is significant for both natural gas and condensate output.
The “Hanifa” reservoir, located in the Asikra field within the Empty Quarter, has shown promising results. The Asikra-6 well has yielded 4.9 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day. This adds to the region’s growing gas extraction potential.
In addition, the “Al-Fadhili” reservoir, also tapped by the Asikra-6 well, has produced natural gas at a rate of 0.6 million standard cubic feet per day, along with about 100 barrels of condensate daily.
