Planet Projects Limited (PPL), a transport development company, has won the African Award for Integrated Mobility by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) for its strides and contributions to the development of urban transportation in Africa.
Delivering the award at the 60th Congress of UITP, in Geneva, Switzerland, with the theme ‘iMove 2.0: The business model of tomorrow?’ which attracted over 2,097 delegates from 78 countries, the president of UITP, Ousmane Thiam, said that Planet Projects came tops for its innovative approach to urban transport development and transport infrastructure delivery which have been evidenced across Nigeria.
UITP is the international network for public transport authorities and operators, policy decision-makers, scientific institutes and the public transport supply and service industry and global advocate of sustainable mobility and promoter of innovations in the sector. It is a platform for worldwide cooperation, business development and the sharing of know-how among its 3,400 members from 92 countries.
