How to improve government accountability will be the focal point of discussions as leaders in Nigeria’s public sector gather in Abuja for the forthcoming 11th Nigeria Development Forum (NDF-11).
The forum holds from June 3-6.
Despite recorded crucial progress in the field of public expenditure management in the past ten years, in Nigeria today rising public service delivery cost is one of the leading drivers of the nation’s budgetary challenges.
The growth rate of Nigeria’s economy has overtime been affected by the scorecard being rendered in public sector financial management, a situation which most policy analysts believe must be improved on.
The forum will examine, through the practitioners– the public sector chief financial officers, their deputies and assistants; the heads, budgets, accounts, public expenditure management; heads of audits and heads of planners –how successfully any plan will ultimately be in bending the public budget cost curve.
