Justice Ibrahim N. Auta, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has charged that for the country’s justice administration to be strengthened, both the bar and the bench need to collaborate in so many ways.

Justice Auta expressed this position recently when he hosted the NBA – Section on Business Law team when they paid him a courtesy visit in his Abuja office to intimate him of its upcoming annual conference slated from June 17 – 19, 2013 in Lagos.

In his words, “It is good to collaborate in order to ensure better understanding of the law, sometimes mistakes are made because of inadequate understanding of the law. The bar and the bench will always interact, that will be better for the justice system. It is important for the bar and the bench to understand each other”. He promised that the Federal High Court will participate in the conference because it is relevant in the scheme of the collaboration.

According to the chairman, organising committee of the NBA – Section on Business Law (SBL) conference, Gbolahan Elias (SAN), the conference requires the participation of the Federal High Court judges because most of the business cases handled by lawyers in this section end up at the federal high court; thereby necessitating their collaboration at this conference for a better understanding and work relationship in the delivery of justice.
