The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Wednesday, said the founder of Daar Communications Plc , Raymond Dokpesi, was invited to its headquarters along Airport road, Abuja.
The Service’s Public Relations Officer, DCI Sunday James, who disclosed this to BusinessDay in a brief telephone conversation, however, failed to state the reason for Dokpesi’s invitation.
“He (Dokpesi) was only invited, and he has been released”, James said.
Asked why he was invited, James said: “I don’t know why he was invited”.
Reports had suggested that the media mogul was invited to the NIS’ headquarters, where he was allegedly asked to submit his passport.
It was further reported that Dokpesi had told officials of the Service, who interviewed him, that his passport was in the custody of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
