Nigerian Governors under the auspices of the Nigerian Governors Forum are set to embark on a vocational trip to Germany, the Chairman of the group Abdulaziz Yari told news men Wednesday night.

About 27 are currently struggling to meet salary obligations to its staff as the federal government moves to provide more support for the states through the Budget Support Facility.

According to Yari, the German Ambassador made presentation on a vocational programme which is of interest to the states.
“We received some presentation from the German Ambassador prior to our trip to Germany for the vocational Programme” he said.

Yari said that they were also briefed by officials of Vodacom. “They made a presentation on the area we are going to partner in the area of health and agriculture”.

Reacting to the issue of impeachment by members of the State Assembly in his state, Yari noted that it was a mere misunderstanding.

He noted that “even the Assembly says there is no such move and that there was a misunderstanding. But you know it is democracy we are practicing and everyone can be hurt. We are peaceful,”.

Among governors who attended the night meeting were those of Kaduna, Niger, Plateau, Anambra, Ogun, Bauchi, Kastina, Kano, Kebbi, Delta and Abia. Most states were represented by their deputies.
