The Prosecuting counsel for the Federal Government, in the trial of suspended Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, Charles Adeogun-Philip has formally withdrawn his service.
He announced his withdrawal, at the resumption of trial before Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court Abuja without citing any reason.
However, Hajara Yusuf of the Attorney General’s office, subsequently took over the matter, confirming the Senior counsel’s withdrawal from the matter.
At the resumption of trial, Linus Chukwuebuka the first prosecution witness said hat he would not have agreed to do anything if he knew they were illegal.

He said he would not have accepted payments totaling about N313million if he believed they were proceeds of crimes.
Chukwuebuka also told the court that he did not make any compliant against Justice Ngwuta neither did he report the defendant to any of the law enforcement agency.

He admitted moving Justice Ngwuta’s cars from his premises but noted that nobody has laid claim that the cars belong to them.
The matter was adjourned to February 13, 2017 to enable AGF reconstitute another  prosecution team.
