The Factional National chairman of Peoples Democratic party(PDP),senator Ali modu- sheriff has, promised to ensure that PDP under his leadership regains Anambra come November this year.
He said that experience has shown that subsequent Governors of the state won because of the crisis in PDP in the state saying that the era of division in Anambra PDP has gone and the party would work together and win the Anambra governorship seat.
Sheriff who spoke in Enugu while addressing a faction of PDP supporters from Anambra state at Nike lake Resort Hotels Enugu urged the party supporters to close ranks and work as a team to save the party from total collapsed in Anambra state and Nigeria.
He stated that now the Independent National Electoral commission(INEC) has issued out time table for the elections and with the appeal court ruling recognising him as the authentic chairman of the party,he would use his experience to return Anambra as PDP state.
“Anambra is a PDP state. We are taking over the state this year. I am a grassroot politician you to win any election you have to get people from grassroot. without the people from the grassroot,no party will win election.
Sherif said that he had never fail any election. “I stated wining elections from councillorship to the top. It pains me that a state that was PDP state by omission or commission another party takes over the place.
The faction Chairman said that the meeting resolved that the party would set up a reconciliation committee to resolve all issues affecting the party in the state, although he said the committee members would be announced later when he gets back to Abuja.
Sheriff who briefed journalists after the meeting said that hencefort delegates elected from wards due based on due process must not be changed in the wadata house.
Saying that from his knowledge the problem of the party in the state has been from Wadata House, assured that under his watch no body would be short changed.
“I think Anambra PDP must come together as one and win the state for PDP in the coming election. In cause of the discussions,the problem of Anambra misfortunes of PDP in Anambra is over the years.
However many PDP stakeholders in Anambra did not attend the meeting except Chris Uba.
