President Muhammadu Buhari has formally written to the National Assembly over his 10-day medical vacation.
He therefore asked Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to act on his behalf as Acting President.
In a letter addressed to the Senate President Bukola Saraki on Tuesday and read by his deputy Ike Ekweremadu, the President did not state where he was travelling to.
But a statement by presidential spokesman Femi Adesina on Sunday, revealed that his principal had an ear infection and would travel to London for a 10-day medical vacation.
According to the letter, Buhari said this was in compliance with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
He left the country on June 6th, 2016 and is expected back on June 16th, 2016.
