Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday met with the governors of Akwa Ibom and Cross River states over boundary disputes that have resulted in the death of scores.

Not fewer than about 20 people were  reportedly killed in a clash between communities in Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.

Reports say the clash which was caused by a boundary dispute between people of Oku Iboku in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom and those of Ikot Offiong in Odukpani LGA in Cross River.
According to a statement by the Acting President’s spokesman, the governors alongside their Ebonyi State counterpart, Dave Umahi, and top officials of the National Boundary Commission, led by the Director-General, Muhammad Ahmad, met to review updates on boundary and boundary demarcation issues.
Refusing to talk with newsmen, the governors stormed out at the end of the meeting looking like the deliberations had not gone smoothly. The meeting is expected to be reconvened sometime next week.
