Business mogul and flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forth coming governorship elections in Ondo state, Jimoh Ibrahim has lost his interlocutor application before the newly constituted panel at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Ibrahim who emerged as the flag bearer of the party under the Ali Modu Sheriff led faction of the party had his application, challenged the jurisdiction of the panel dismissed.
Beluolisah Nwofor, counsel to Ibrahim had questioned the newly constituted pannel set up by the President of the Appeal Court, Zainab Bulkachuwa, after the earlier panel led by Justice Jummai Sankey stayed off the matter, premised on a petition filed by one Biyi Poroye.
Eyitayo Jegede of the Ahmed Makarfi led faction of the party, had challenged an October 14 judgement, delivered by Justice Okon Abang of an Abuja Federal High Court, which Ibrahim recognised as the authentic candidate for the November 26 election in Ondo State.
In the ruling delivered by the newly constituted Justice Ibrahim Salauwa led panel, held that the application is one that should not be allowed to see the light of day.
“This is an application that should not be allowed to see the light of day. Assuming that this pannel is subject to any reviewed by any court; this should not be the court.
“It is unimaginable that a pannel set up by the President of the Appeal Court should be questioned by us”, the panel held.
Application by Jegede demanding that the appeal court sets aside its rules and allow him appeal previous judgements as an interested party, on the Ondo governorship election by the Federal High Court was also granted.
