Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has called on the nation to imbibe the spirit of accountability and prudence in surviving the current challenges in the nation’s economy.
He gave the advise while receiving William Babatunde Fowler, chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and chairmen of States Internal Revenue Service at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Obasanjo, while pointing out that tax revenue is one of the alternatives open to government also said that government at all levels must be more productive to justify the taxes they collect from the general public in order to gain the confidence of the tax payers.
