Nigeria Army rescues Bama Emir’s wife from Boko Haram

The Nigerian Army has rescued the abducted wife of the Emir of Bama, Kyari Umar Ibn Elkanemi.
She was kidnapped from her husband’s domain in September 2014 with two of her children, a teenage boy and his baby sister.
The mother of five was handed over to her husband Kyari Umar Ibn Elkanemi by the General Officer Commanding, 7th Division, Major General Victor Ezugwu.
The Borno State Deputy Governor, Usman Durkwa, and wife of Governor Kashim Shettima, Nana witnessed the official handing over ceremony.
The wife of the Emir was rescued along Damboa road, following ongoing military operations in the area, she returned with only her daughter as her son was murdered by the insurgents.
