The trial of Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, took a new turn before Justice John Tsoho, of an Abuja Federal High Court, after seeking for an out of court settlement, having pleaded not guilty to a 5 count charge leveled against him.
Ahmed Raji SAN, counsel to the defendant while seeking for an adjournment to explore other options, however did affirmed that, his client was charged with a N26million fraud, but he would need some time to go over the facts, being new on the matter.
The application to go for plea bargain was not opposed to by Johnson Ojogbane, the prosecuting counsel who sought the court for a definite date, to commence trial.
The trial court did subsequently adjourn the matter to March 14, 2017 for commencement of trial.
It will be recalled that the former aviation minister is facing another 17 -count charge of money laundering before the Lagos division
of the court.
