Kwara State government has uncovered about 400 certificate forgery cases through Zarah Omar-led Certificate Verification Exercise Committee.
Muideen Akorede, senior special assistant to the governor on media and communications, who disclosed this at a press briefing, emphasised that the culprits involved were found in both the local and state government services, respectively, stressing that appropriate sanction would be melted on them while other officers who were yet to be detected were advised to voluntary exit the service.
“The report has been submitted to the state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, by the head of service, Hajia Omar, for consideration and implementation,” he said
Similarly, the state government awarded the sum of N925.8 million for renovation of the indoor sports hall of the state stadium complex.
The project, expected to be completed within nine months, was given to Metro Fittings & Accessories Nigeria Limited.
He noted that the renovation of the facility became very important due to the uniqueness of the over 40 years existence of the stadium, which accommodates about 26 sporting activities.
