Buruji Kashamu, a controversial senator from Ogun east senatorial district and Adekoya Adesegun, a member, Federal House of Representatives, also from Ogun east senatorial district, have lost their seats in the National Assembly, Abuja.
Kashamu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) contested NASS election on March 28, 2015 with Dapo Abiodun of All Progressives Congress (APC), but was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Although, Kashamu is leading by 5000 votes despite a re-run election, the three-man election tribunal panel sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital cancelled 37,000 votes and therefore, ordered a re-run.
Also, Adekoya Adesegun, who moved a fresh motion, revisiting $470 million Abuja and Lagos Closed Circuit Television Camera contracts in 2010 on the floors of Federal House of Representatives in Abuja on Thursday, lost his seat at the election tribunal.
Henry Olusiyi, the chairman, three-man election tribunal panel sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital sacked Adekoya Adesegun on Friday and ordered fresh election in 223 polling units that make up Ijebu-North/Ogun Waterside/Ijebu East Federal Constituency where Adesegun represents in the Federal House of Representatives.
Adekoya AbdulMajid Adesegun was elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in March 28, 2015 National Assembly elections by the people of three local government areas, namely Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside which make up Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency.
