Jigawa, Abuja chambers of commerce partner on trade development

The Jigawa Chamber of Commerce (JICCIMA) says it is partnering Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) on trade development to enable it to establish good relationship with the international communy.

A statement by the management of ACCI on Friday in Abuja, stated that Alhaji Shehu Sanusi, President of JICCIMA, who led the delegation, requested ACCI’s modus operandi.

Earlier, Mr. Tony Ejinkeonye, President of ACCI, expressed delight at the visit.

He explained that for JICCIMA to be able to generate funds, it must have a strong Secretariat, adding that what made a strong Secretariat was highly experienced staff.

He said ACCI had been able to generate funds through various means, including investments, renting of part of the ACCI land to organisations for use.

Other sources are trade fairs, trade missionsand establishment of ACCI Multipurpose society.

He enjoined JICCIMA to engage in activities that would promote its visibility such as identifying and registering with other international chambers of commerce.

Ejinkeonye added that ACCI had registered with some  international chambers like D8 Chamber of Commerce and Silk Road Chamber of Commerce.

Sanusi, while thanking his ACCI counterpart, assured that  JICCIMA would implement many of the proposals.
