Industrialist tasks FG on improved power supply to accelerate development

Industrialist tasks FG on improved power supply to accelerate development

Government at all levels has been advised to promote indigenous industrialists by ensuring stable electricity supply to minimise cost of production.

Chairman Orient Groups Limited, Godwin Ezeemo, made the call at the end of a two-day congress of the Alaigbo Development Foundation held recently at Umuchu, Aguata Council Area.

According to Ezeemo, industries suffer setback and total closure due to huge resources being spent to sustain it, especially in using alternative power supply.

He said the stability of such industries would boost employment opportunities, government internally generated revenue and would attract more indigenous companies and industries to the South East region.

Over one thousand people are under his employ, with room to employ more, if resources were saved from other expenses that should have been born by government, he said.

Ezeemo said government intervention was needed in areas of access roads and steady power supply to companies, and called on all hands to be on deck in achieving the “aku luo uno” clarion call of the Willie Obiano administration being buttressed by the Alaigbo Development Foundation.
